For my 50th anniversary my husband gave me the course: Baltimore Album Quilt.
The quilt we would make was a Baltimore quilt, nine blocks in a traditional setting with sashings. This quilt had an offwhite background.

I wanted to do the class to improve my applique and to learn 3D-technics. My choice was a colored background.

After making the first blocks I borrowed some books written by Elly Sienkiewicz and Anita Shackelford to study a few base patterns.
